Palantir Technologies received $ 130 million in funding



The company, which is based in the historic center of Silicon Valley, the city of Palo Alto (California), is engaged in the analysis and processing of various data, applying its development to predict and solve various problems in the field of economics, information security and the military sector. It is known that the tools of Palantir Technologies were used to track down the famous terrorist Osama Bin Laden.

According to TechCrunch, information about the latest stage of financing for the company was published this week by the US Securities and Stock Market Commission. This process is part of a round of financing, according to which Palantir Technologies managed to raise $ 680 million. Prior to this, the state commission reported on various capital investments totaling $ 555 million, which made it possible to increase the value of the company to $ 20 billion.

The organization does not provide accurate information on the number of financing rounds held, but, according to the Internet portal CrunchBase, there have been 16 of them so far. Such major players as the Founders Fund have participated in these stages (Peter Thiel is listed as partner of the company) , co-founder of Palantir) and non-profit venture enterprise In-Q-Tel. The latter is mainly engaged in financing technology companies whose development can help the work of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
