Toshiba is looking for new partners

According to information from The Verge, in the IT world there have been conflicting rumors that Toshiba plans to unite efforts in the computer hardware market with other Japanese companies.

After the July scandal, as a result of which Toshiba CEO Hisao Tanaka lost his post, the company is in the process of restructuring. And the information that Toshiba plans to actively develop the PC sector and for this will make deals with computer manufacturers, appeared the same week when the company sold part of the business related to the production of Sony image sensors for $ 155 million.

According to Nikkei, Toshiba is currently in talks with Vaio, which until 2014 was owned by Sony, as well as by a large Japanese company, Fujitsu. The last in October of this year announced that it will take up the development of its own business related to the production of computers. If an agreement is finally signed, the companies will jointly develop IT technologies for this sector under the Vaio brand, which as a result will control about 30 percent of the Japanese PS market and become the largest player on the PS market, overtaking NEC Lenovo.

However, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, a Vaio spokesman denied this information, stating that the company is not negotiating with Toshiba at the moment. Fujitsu representatives, in turn, say that the corporation is considering various options, and no decision has yet been made.
