Attention! Total rebranding. Biotrack becomes Workly
Let me first explain why we decided to change the brand. There are a number of reasons:
The brand Biotrack was associated by many of our customers as something biotechnological, medical.
Whether by chance or not, in Spain there is a company with the identical name BioTrack and they ... (attention!) Do the same as we do! Well, almost the same, they sell biometric access control and time tracking terminals.
Also in the US there is a company called Biotrack - which deals with ... (ATTENTION!) Sale of medical marijuana !!! We received several requests to the mail =). It is definitely worth noting that we invented the brand name ourselves. Then, in the near 2011 year, we first wrote software for Chinese biometric devices. And the name is simple - BIO (biometric) TRACK (control, monitoring).
Since we have now gotten rid of biometric equipment, we definitely don’t need the BIO prefix.
What you need to do to IT companies to change the brand? Here is a list of what we went through:
Come up with a name. To change the brand in the plans was pretty long ago. We threw a few dozen options. It was difficult to choose from them. As a result, we stopped at 10 options. Since the brand should not only please us, we created a Google form and sent it to all our customers with 10 variants of the name. Of the 321 respondents, 52% voted for Workly. Convincing victory!
Creating a logo. Here we didn’t open the “wheel” again and used the font and icon from the old logo. Also italics were removed, as the logo in italics did not fit into the new system.
Redesign system. The most time consuming process. The Biotrack system is very large and has many modules. There are also customer reviews from the UX point of view. Put it all together and that's what we got:
Login page made easier and more elegant
The position of the employee is now displayed on the system's desks and how long it is late, which is very convenient to view without going to the reports tab.
Now we have no stamp undisciplined. Deshbord is a honor roll where you can see the most diligent employees and see how many percent of the working time each of them attended.
The employee profile interface has been upgraded. A QR code appeared next to the photo of the employee who is used by the employee to “check in”.
Website redesign. The site must be image. Minimum text and maximum images. A great emphasis on the site is placed on the TimePad application - a mobile application for recording employee arrivals and departures.
