Microsoft is trying to increase its share of "cloud" pie

Today on the official website, Microsoft announced the launch of Ethereum Blockchain based on its Azure platform. In partnership with New York startup ConsenSys, the Redmond company offered corporate clients and developers a blockchain development environment as a cloud service EBaaS (Ethereum Blockchain as a Service). Such a service will allow financial companies to take advantage of cloud technologies when developing their products based on the basic Bitcoin digital cryptocurrency technology. In this case, the main feature of this service will be the high reliability and efficiency of accounting operations, inherent in the blockchain, and used today by many companies to upgrade their infrastructure.

The service will be built into the corporate package of Microsoft Azure. The company will offer two tools for the rapid development of SmartContract applications: Ether.Camp - as an IDE (integrated development environment) and BlockApps - a private Ethereum blockchain environment.

Today, there is considerable excitement around the blockchain, and most companies are not interested in Bitcoin itself. This is the case when the product technology turned out to be more useful than the product itself.

Noting the flexibility and extensibility of Ethereum, Redmond is hoping to combine them with the additional features of Cortana Analytics (machine learning), Power BI, Azure Active Directory, O365 and CRMOL, thereby significantly increasing its presence in the cloud services market.
