Bloomberg Businessweek has published an extraordinary ranking of business schools in the world

Every year, Bloomberg Businessweek publishes a ranking of American and international business schools. This year the rating turned out to be special: the expected learning outcome was the main criterion for evaluating business schools. Experts analyzed what competencies students want to have after graduation and how effectively their chosen MBA programs contribute to this.

As part of the study , 13,150 students from various business schools, 18,540 graduates, 1,460 personnel recruiters were interviewed. In addition, the researchers found out how many graduates of business schools get a job within three months after the end of the course and what wages they receive at this job.

Bloomberg has identified three groups of business schools: the best international business schools, the best US business schools, and business schools that offer an MBA course without a break from their main job.

The leader of last year’s ranking of international business schools, Canadian Ivey at the University of Western Ontario, has retained first place. This business school received the highest rating from employers surveyed by Bloomberg Businessweek, who noted the quality of graduates' training for their chosen work.

The top five also includes the London Business School, rising from fourth place, French INSEAD , rising from fifth place, Spanish IE Business School , dropping from second place to fourth, and the Swiss IMD (International Management Development Institute). The latter has significantly improved its position, rising to fifth place from ninth.

In sixth place is the Said Business School at Oxford University, which rose from seventh place, receiving the highest marks from its graduates. IESE Spanish Business School at the University of Navarre has risen from eighth to seventh place. Judge Cambridge Business School dropped from sixth to eighth place, while Queen’s Canadian Business School at Queens University rose from tenth to ninth place.

The top ten closes the international business school HEC Paris , which last year ranked 12th. In general, this rating includes 29 business schools from different countries of the world, including in addition to the already mentioned countries Australia, China, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Singapore.

In the United States this year, Harvard Business School has become the best, which last year was only in eighth place. The second place this year was taken by the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. Last year she was ranked third. Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University has risen from 7th to 3rd place. Sloan at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and soared from 14th to 4th place.

In the ranking of business schools that provide the opportunity to take an MBA course without a job, the best is Kellogg at Northwestern University. That year, Kellogg launched such a program for the first time and immediately became a leader. The top three of this ranking also includes the Tepper Business School at Carnegie Mellon University and the Jones School of Business at Rice University.

According to Bloomberg Businessweek, 88% of business school graduates in the past year, within three months after completing an MBA course, found an interesting job and an appropriate salary. Their salary increased by 81% compared to what it was before the end of the course. After six to eight years of work, the salary of a graduate of the business school increases by another 64% and reaches about $ 169 thousand a year.

Most often, business school graduates get jobs in consulting or financial services, less often occupy positions in technology companies, health care, energy, and others, Kommersant reports with reference to Bloomberg.
