Recently, I visited the site of another fashionable startup and for half a minute I tried to understand what the guys are doing, what can be useful to me and how much it costs. But did not understand, spat and left.
Common situation?
')
The site of the company, from which tears yawning. Online store, where it takes half an hour to fill out the order form. Landing with juicy pictures, THAT'S THERE IS SO ANYTHING ON VISITORS AND TICKES A FALSE PROMOTION TIMER. All of them make commonplace but common mistakes. These are design mistakes, in the broad sense of the word: problems of “communication” between the interface and the person.
In
Design Linker, we help websites, products and services become more convenient and more humane. And after the first hundred sites, when the patterns of errors became obvious, they decided to describe them in the “problem - solution” format. It turned out a catalog of
antipattern design and UX . Now there are 22 articles in it, and there are as many in the plans.
To make it clear what the catalog looks like, here’s one anti-pattern here (I chose the smallest one so as not to inflate the article):
"Background video" Imagine: you are standing at the store and looking at the shop window. Suddenly, the salesman runs out, starts grabbing hands, pulling after himself, wailing, “Eee, dear, let's go quickly, what product will I show!” What do you think?
A visitor feels the same way when a background video with automatic playback meets it on the main page. And sometimes with sound.
 Opened and played
How to fix If the video serves only to attract attention, replace it with a static image. If it demonstrates the capabilities of a product or service, run on demand, not automatically. |
Catalog useful:
- startups and marketers (see design problems that harm conversion);
- designers (as checklist for self-checking);
- testers looking for bugs in the UX;
- and to everyone who wants to make their site more convenient.
I would be glad if the collected recipes will be useful to you. Share comments or examples from your own practice in the comments!
