Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is no longer the best leader. Harvard Business Review Rating

Last year, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos ranked first in the Harvard Business Review executive rankings. In this place, he left the leadership position, leaving immediately to 87th place. First place is now occupied by the head of the pharmaceutical company Novo from Denmark, Lars Sorensen, writes "Kommersant". The second and third places are taken by Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers and Inditex head Pablo Isla.

The rating by the magazine Harvard Business Review is compiled by analyzing a list of 1.2 thousand different companies, with an analysis of the work of 907 different executives. According to the results of the evaluation of the list, a rating is created of the 100 most successful managers, more precisely, of the general directors.

This year, the principle of forming the rating was radically revised, thanks to which many managers who occupied the first positions in the last year’s rating did not immediately descend several dozen positions. For example, Jeff Bezos this year took 87th place, although in the past he was in first position. The main criterion for ranking to date has been such indicators as the return on shareholders 'returns and the growth of the companies' market capitalization with current managers. In addition, when forming the rating, the growth factors of local markets were not taken into account.

Now, when forming the rating, other factors are also used, including the “environmental friendliness” of companies and their social responsibility. The ratio of the influence of financial and social factors, the creators of the rating is calculated as 80% to 20%. If you create a list using only "social", then Jeff Bezos does 828 place. If you use only profit indicators, the head of Amazon takes all the same first position
