The well-known edition of Business Insider has published a ranking of the most innovative countries in the world - just 12 countries in this rating. When compiling the ranking, journalists use publications from the World Economic Forum, namely information regarding the financing of various research institutions and the protection of intellectual property. Switzerland took the first place in this rating due to the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) installed in Geneva. In addition, this country received the first place in terms of innovation potential, as well as the quality of research organizations, plus the investment of commercial organizations for research.

The second place was taken by Finland, where, according to the authors, one of the most advanced education systems in the world. The third position was taken by Israel, where a large number of scientists and entrepreneurs work.

As for the United States, this country ranked fourth only, but the United States also received second place in terms of innovation in universities and industry. Japan received the fifth place, because there is not too high level of education in universities, but the maximum number of patents per person.

The sixth place was taken by Germany, the seventh - Sweden, the eighth - the Netherlands, the ninth - Singapore, the tenth - Denmark, the eleventh - Taiwan and the twelfth - United Kingdom.
