How will the Runet develop in the coming years? Internet Development Institute is preparing its plan

The Institute for Internet Development ( IRI ) is an organization established in the spring of this year following a meeting of representatives of IT companies with the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Vyacheslav Volodin. IRI unites several funds and unions at once, including the Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC), the Internet Initiatives Development Foundation (IIDF), the Media Communication Union and the Regional Public Center for Internet Technologies (ROCIT), RBC reports . Now Iran is preparing a plan for the development of the Russian segment of the Network, so that the elements of this plan are included in the program, calculated until 2025. The program is being developed on the instructions of President Vladimir Putin.

Proposals from the IRI will be submitted already on October 5, at a meeting with Volodin, as well as Minister of the Ministry of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov. Now the preliminary version of this document is ready, and it consists of 137 pages. In terms of there are tips not only on the development of the Internet, but also on the modernization of other industries.

The plan records four directions for the development of the Runet: in relation to society, government agencies, business, the media and communications sector.

Thus, for medical institutions, an aggregation of case histories and clinical studies is provided in a single database. Plus it is proposed to develop such services as remote diagnostics and consultations, as well as to develop an electronic prescription system. Such a system will allow you to buy drugs on the web.

As for education, here the industry representatives recommend creating a system of distance school and vocational education. Among other proposals is the development of an online platform that allows educational institutions to consult with businesses on the qualities of graduates necessary for commercial structures. It also emphasizes the need for training IT professionals.

For industry, it is recommended to create a system for collecting data from mining and processing enterprises.

The main idea of ​​the document is import substitution. "The key role of the state here is to provide support to local business, offering him better conditions than foreign players," the document says. We are talking about search engines, anti-virus programs and online stores, according to IRI.

Previously, the plan was to include a mandatory pre-installation on smartphones of domestic software sold by foreign companies. But this item caused a lot of disagreements, and in the final version of the document it is not.

Domestic companies do not consider legislative restriction of competition necessary. “Russia is just one of the few countries where high competition favors the continuous development of search engine quality and the emergence of new services and technologies,” Yandex representatives say.
