RAO in 2014 collected 4.6 billion rubles and paid the authors 3.1 billion

Charges for royalties to the Russian Authors ’Society in 2014 increased by 5% and amounted to 4.6 billion rubles. This is the lowest rate of growth in fees since 2011: in 2011 it was 9.22%, in 2012 - 14.9%, in 2013 - 29.1%. The slowdown in UES explains the economic downturn, when a huge number of small and medium-sized businesses were forced to withdraw from the market, which primarily affected the entertainment complex.

2.8 billion rubles RAO collected from public performers of works, 0.99 billion - from radio stations and television channels. Of the 4.6 billion authors paid 4.3 billion rubles, but after paying taxes and covering the costs of collecting and distributing remuneration, the authors reached 3.1 billion. The own expenses of the Russian Authors ’Society last year amounted to 1.04 billion, the money went to salaries and to the central apparatus of the organization, Vedomosti writes .

Established by RAO “Russian Union of Rights Holders” collected 0.4 billion rubles for copying works from importers and manufacturers of equipment.
