US antitrust authorities have launched an investigation against Google. The corporation is suspected of artificially restricting competitors' access to the Android OS, Bloomberg
writes . In addition to the United States, a similar investigation is now in the EU.
FAS Russia found Google guilty on September 14th in a similar case.
So far, there is nothing critical for Google - the usual test is underway, which can be completed without any consequences at any time. But if a corporation is found guilty of violating antitrust laws, it can be a huge penalty. About two years ago, an antitrust investigation by Google was launched in the USA regarding the search service of the corporation. But it was closed.
But four years ago, in 2011, Google was accused of the fact that the company was withdrawing money for in-game purchases virtually without the knowledge of users. The investigation of this case lasted for many months, and in 2014 the corporation had to pay the affected users about $ 19 million.

The current investigation was launched after several US companies immediately complained about Google to the US Department of Justice, reporting that the Android operating system is being used by the “Corporation of Good” as a tool to increase its influence on the mobile application market. As for the US antitrust authorities, while the corporation is not being accused of anything - according to officials, the investigation (for the time being) is purely formal. However, things can change if some proof of Google’s guilt is found.
