Nintendo has decided on a new leader: Tatsumi Kimishima will become one. Kimishima, 60, worked with Nintendo as CFO of the Pokemon Company since 2000, then from 2002 to 2006 served as president of Nintendo America.

On July 11, 2015,
Satoru Iwata , head of Nintendo, who had worked for the company for fifteen years, passed away at the age of 56. After Iwat’s death, director Genio Takeda and Shigeru Miyamoto became the managers of the company. On September 14, 2015, Nintendo
announced that Tatsumi Kimishima would be the new president.
The company hopes that Kimissima, the fifth president in the company's history, will help NIntendo to overcome the losing streak and get out of the crisis. The new head of the company will continue to develop the NX console and
experiment with mobile games . Prior to working at NIntendo, Kimisim spent twenty-seven years in corporate planning, international business development, and corporate communications in Sanwa Bank, Japan.

The former head of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, who was appointed president of the company in 2002,
died on July 11, 2015 from cancer. Iwata was president when launching the very popular Nintendo DS and Wii and when developing the Wii U, which legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto admits was a failure. It was Satoru Iwata who began the company's aggressive work in the direction of games for smartphones.
Prior to Satoru Iwata, the company was
headed by Hiroshi Yamauchi , he worked in this position from 1949 to 2002 - 53 years.
