Trains and LEGO locks. Build yourself

About LEGO, for sure, heard almost everything. But about such a thing as computer LEGO-modeling, as I suspect, far fewer people know. Yes, and I would never know about it if I had not stumbled upon an article in one of the old issues of "PC World".

The fact that this children's designer is a success not only for children, but also for quite serious adults all over the world is not a secret. Not surprising and the whole city, built from blocks of designer - Legolandy . But the fact that LEGO is on the computer I somehow didn’t suspect :) Under the cut is a small collection of links and programs that I managed to find. I think, exactly the topic with LEGO-modeling will be close. And what if a LEGO modeller lives in you? ;)


Programs
All the programs listed here are free, and many are open.
LeoCAD is a simple, convenient and functional program. Available for Windows and Linux.
LDraw - for the harshest LEGO modellers. As the authors say, it is even steeper than the designer himself and for him nothing is impossible.
Lego Digital Designer - the official program from the manufacturer of the designer. For the little ones.
Bricksmith - Mac OS users did not stay aside. This program is for them.

DigitalBricks - model trains and other transport. I took the picture for the post from there =)
Models of the Month - archive of the best models of the month at LDraw.org. C 1999 and to our days.

Alas, most of the above resources have not been updated for a long time. I did not find Russian-language sites, and even more so (sorry). But who knows - suddenly, after this note, such a site will appear? ;)
