St. Petersburg Academic University of RAS (
SPbAU ) and Computer Science Center (
CS ) have developed an online program on the basics of programming. The program includes 12 courses. This volume is enough to make a “novice programmer out of a chemist or humanist” without basic programming knowledge, the press release says. For everyone, access to online courses will be open for free.
For a fee (12 thousand rubles a year), students will be able to discuss difficulties with assistants, will take intermediate tests and take exams.
Graduates after a year of such commercial training will receive a diploma of vocational retraining at SPbAU RAS “according to the program of additional education in the field of information technologies and applied mathematics”.
However, to obtain a diploma of vocational retraining, there is another condition - you need to have a diploma of higher or secondary special education. The first graduates of the online program will appear in late June 2016,

website says.

JetBrains and CS board member.
