According to representatives of Roskomnadzor, the refusal of Wikipedia administrators to comply with the requirements of the department to delete an article on the preparation of a narcotic substance actually jeopardizes the interests of Russian-speaking users of the online encyclopedia, RBC writes . “The position of the administrators, who for unknown reasons decided to come into conflict with the Russian justice, is puzzling, and, protecting one page of information that the court recognized as illegal, jeopardized access to its own entire resource. Of course, we, like all Wikipedia users, would like to avoid blocking, ”the message says.

Now the agency can not block individual pages of the site, since it works under the HTTPS protocol. Accordingly, it is impossible to block several pages - to block access to them, you need to block the entire site.

According to Stanislav Kozlovsky, director of the non-commercial partnership “Wikimedia RU”, earlier and other Wikipedia pages were included in the Unified Register of Banned Sites, and nobody deleted these pages either.
