True, so far only in government bodies. The corresponding request was sent to the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Vice-Speaker of the State Duma Nikolai Levichev,
writes "RBC". The request says that now the American corporation Microsoft is conducting a rather active campaign in the country to update the previous versions of the Windows operating system on Windows 10 for free.
Nikolay Levichev is worried that the privacy statement from Microsoft says that the corporation will register both personal and contact information of users. At the same time, the company collects passwords, password hints and some other data related to information security. According to the official, Microsoft will collect credit card numbers and security codes, IP addresses, and location data.
This indicates that the data collected can be stored and processed in the United States or in any other country. And the duration of data storage can be unlimited. Levichev argues that personal data and all related information of users of the system may be available to Microsoft and foreign structures - and this is fraught with leakage of confidential data.

“Windows 10 allows users to choose how their information will be used so that they receive the most personalized services. In the new OS, they are offered several options for managing user data, and the user can adjust them at any time, ”commented the situation at Microsoft. Representatives of the company also said that Microsoft does not provide direct access to user data to any government. It also does not provide access to e-mail or messages.
Nevertheless, the vice-speaker asks the prime minister to consider the possibility of "a total ban on the use of the Windows 10 operating system in government bodies, state-owned companies, state scientific and research structures." Levichev sent a request to the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov - his deputy asks to investigate the compliance of Microsoft’s activities with the requirements of the law on information and “take measures provided for by Russian law, if necessary.”
