ChronoPay completed the transfer of personal data of Russians to the territory of the Russian Federation

In connection with the entry into force of the law on personal data on September 1, ChronoPay transferred personal data to Russia. Now the company's server capacities are located on the Russian DataPro hosting.

“In general, I would like to note the timeliness and reasonable need for such legislative initiatives. In my opinion, such a policy, albeit in a tough manner, ultimately leads to trusting relations between business and online commerce and, finally, to a real understanding of the industry by the authorities, ”said Pavel Vrublevsky, founder of ChronoPay.

Work on data transfer was carried out for about a year.

“Despite the fact that the transfer of servers was a prerequisite for continued work in Russia, we received a very significant benefit from such a step - the transaction processing speed decreased by 2 seconds. The reduction in transaction processing time affects the conversion of the Internet site, and hence the growth of profits for the company and its customers. In addition, by activating the Russian site, it will be possible to increase the stability of the processing operation, which will also have a positive effect on the business of our customers, ”Alexey Kovyrshin, ChronoPay CEO, told CNews.

ChronoPay servers remaining in Europe and the United States will be used for purposes not related to the processing of personal data of Russians.

ChronoPay system processes online payments using plastic cards. About 1,500 Russian companies use its services. Among them are such large customers as MTS and Transaero . ChronoPay's direct clients are legal entities to which the personal data law does not apply. But ChronoPay servers process bank transactions of their customers, individuals, Denis Duniushkin, a ChronoPay representative, explained to Vedomosti. And to perform such operations, you must have access to personal data of users.
