It was this thought that flashed through my head, after reading the next spam letter from a well-known global company.

This article is nothing more than a discussion of the advertising market, in particular the Internet advertising market, I am writing it in order to share my thoughts and hear the opinions of others on this matter. Maybe even this article will inspire someone to create a new startup.

Today, the Internet advertising market is huge (we are talking about hundreds of billions of US dollars) and it continues to grow at a steady pace. However, in the pursuit of profit, companies forget about users, not about advertisers, from whom they happily collect more and more money, but about those to whom they show this advertisement . Not for nothing, in recent years, the number of programs like AdBlocker has grown (if I remember correctly at 30-50% per year).

In pursuit of profit, advertising agencies strive to show more advertising, wherever possible wherever possible, we will soon reach the point of absurdity and advertising will be shown as in the well-known F / m Futurama - in a dream! If only to provide more impressions, maybe someone will buy it.
No one as a user asks:

And nobody cares if I want to see this advertisement as a user?
Do I need it at all?
Do I want to buy this damn cream to increase ... (you know what for)?

Here the reader will say, but what about targeting? But what about data mining, and high-advertising?

This is already better, then at least they show me an advertisement that “I might be interested in potential” - this is already better!
But again, take the same Direct. You once searched (without wanting to buy) just by interest, some thing or even better you were asked to see it. And up to 45 days you will show ads with this product.

Why no advertising agency thinks about me about your favorite user?
Why does no one take into account my interests, but treats my information space scornfully?

In the last 20-30 years, people have noticed a significant immunity to outdoor advertising, on the day we encounter hundreds or even thousands of advertisements (in one day!) At best we perceive ~ 5%. The same thing starts on the Internet.

We are entering an era of information. An era when information is a source of power and a powerful tool of influence. At the moment, we, as humanity, have not yet learned how to treat it with respect for each other and respect for each other’s information field. I very much hope that in the near future, the market will turn to face its user and begin to respect it, otherwise the trend may to take a radical character and isolation from the world information field of the day will become a necessity in order not to go crazy.
