Deputy Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China, Chen Zhimin, said that the police would cooperate, including with Internet regulators. "The era of the Internet is rapidly approaching in China, and ensuring order in the network becomes a matter of national security," Zhimin commented on the situation.
Unfortunately, the list of companies in which “cyber police officers” will work has not been published. However, it can be assumed that security forces will work with Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu. The project to create "cyber police" was discussed at the highest level in China. So, if in May, PRC Chairman Xi Jinping said that Internet companies must "demonstrate positive energy in cleansing cyberspace."
In July of this year in China, a corresponding bill was published, providing for increased control over the dissemination of data on the Internet. Opponents of the bill claim that technology companies operating in China will be forced to provide their know-how to the Chinese authorities. And this, in turn, can significantly reduce the amount of foreign investment in China.
