In the second quarter of this year, Xiaomi and Huawei outperformed Apple in the Chinese smartphone market. Now the positions of the American corporation are threatened by Samsung and Vivo, occupying, respectively, the fourth and fifth places, Kommersant
reports . According to analytical company Canalys, Xiaomi has become the leader in the local smartphone market with a 15.9% share. In second place is Huawei with 15.7% of the market. It is worth noting that the share of Huawei grew immediately by 48% - this is the maximum figure among all manufacturers of smartphones in the PRC.
Now the leading players have tightened competition for buyers in China. "Therefore, the current leader Xiaomi is under constant pressure from other companies," said Canalys analyst Jingwen Wang.
Canalys data is confirmed by reports of other analytical agencies. For example, last week another analytic company, Counterpoint Ressearch, released its own report on the smartphone market in China. According to this company, the share of Xiaomi is 15.8%, Huawei - 15.4%, and Apple - 12.2%. The volume of the smartphone market in China has decreased by 2% compared with the second quarter of last year.
