"Liters" digitizes 11 thousand books for 96 million rubles
The company "Litres" has signed a state contract to work with the base of the National Electronic Library. The e-book store thus undertook to digitize 11,000 books for 96 million rubles, writes Roem. Prior to signing a contract with Litres, digitized books were purchased from the National Library Resource non-profit organization.
The initial value of the state contract amounted to 102 million rubles. Liters offered a price of 5.8% less than the initial price, and received a contract. At the same time, the company bypassed Best Book LLC and ANO National Library Resource. Based on the current amount of the contract, the digitization of one book will cost the customer 8700 rubles. Earlier, the digitization of one book cost the NAB 11 thousand rubles.
The contract specifies the need to conclude licensing agreements with copyright holders (by the performer), as well as the transfer to the customer of the finished work in electronic form. If there is no book in digital format, the performer is obliged to make a digital version (PDF / A or EPUB). To digitize all the books the artist is given three months.
It is worth noting that the "Liters" has a list of 50-60 thousand titles of works, from which you can choose 11 thousand books. The list of books will be selected on the basis of a survey of readers in the RSL and the Russian National Library, taking into account the recommendations of the Science Council of the Ministry of Culture, expert evaluations of the Russian Book Union and public comment.
