In the second quarter of 2015, the adjusted net profit of the company
Yandex amounted to 2.8 billion rubles, which is 16% less than last year. “This is caused by various factors, including an increase in salaries to our developers and an increase in the cost of renting premises. Recall that in May 2014 we began to pay rent for an additional 18 thousand square meters of the Moscow office, and the rent is nominated in dollars, ”representatives of Yandex explained.
Net profit before the adjustment of indicators decreased by 82% - to 423 million rubles.
As explained by the press service of Yandex, 82% is a “paper” fall, primarily due to currency fluctuations: the functional currency for Yandex is the Russian ruble, however, according to GAAP rules, changes in the ruble value of assets and liabilities nominated in other currencies are reflected in the statement of profit and loss.
According to the quarterly
report, the company's revenue compared with the same period of the same period last year grew by 14% - up to 13.9 billion rubles. This result was better than the company itself had predicted. Representatives of Yandex assumed that it would be possible to increase the figure by 9-12%, while analysts at Interfax predicted an increase of only 11%.

According to him, the main goals of the company are now to improve the quality of search and the quality of advertising products.
“In the third quarter, we plan to launch a new auction model for advertising sales, which will increase the effectiveness of advertisements for advertisers and will boost the online advertising market as a whole,” Volozh recalled.

Yandex.Taxi and
Yandex.Music . Total revenues from Others in April-June increased by 202% and reached 359 million rubles. In the first half of 2015, non-advertising revenues increased by 183%, to 653 million rubles.
