Kuriles - disputed territory

According to Google Maps, the Southern Kuriles do not belong to Russia, but are a disputed territory. The islands of Iturup, Shikotan, Kunashir and the entire Habomai range are already outside the Russian Federation. Both Russian and Japanese names are given. In Japan, the Southern Kuriles are also not “inscribed” and, as it were, lie in the middle of the sea by themselves. As if to a special decision that settles the final status of the islands.
