"Rostec" is negotiating with the
Central Election Commission and
"Mail of Russia" on the purchase of personal computers based on the Russian processor "Elbrus".
The Pension Fund of the Russian Federation has already acquired two computers after a preliminary check. The organization is not planning to buy more devices yet.
About 50 computers based on the Elbrus processor were taken for testing by the management company of Rostec itself.
The head of the department of communication and information of Rostec, Vasily Brovko,
told Vedomosti that at first the state corporation was ready to supply 100,000 computers of its own production to customers. A party of this size can stimulate demand for domestic computers and reduce the cost of a single device.
The production of computers based on the Elbrus processor is carried out by the
MCST and the
Institute of Electronic Control Machines. I.S. Brooke. Accepting orders for domestic PCs was opened on the ICTS website in April 2015. The first computer cost about 200 thousand rubles. According to representatives of the MCST, the first batch of 50 such computers was sold out.

An employee of Rostec admitted that foreign computers are more powerful than Russian ones, but high-performance is not required for office work. Now the cost of computers based on "Elbrus" is about one and a half times higher than that of foreign ones. This is due to the modest scale of production. With a large order, the price of a computer is 70 thousand rubles.
