The Russian division of
Microsoft invests in 12 startups of the federal accelerator
GenerationS together with
GVA LaunchGurus.All 12 startups will pass a special selection. Each of them will receive a Microsoft Azure cloud grant worth more than 4 million rubles. In addition, they will be provided with information and expert support. In accordance with the program
Microsoft CityNext (“Cities of the Future”), the corporation will support the industry track
SmartCity GenerationS - acceleration direction for projects in the field of “smart city” and technologies for life.
Projects from the first stage of the GenerationS pre-acceleration program can be included in the list of 12 startups. GenerationsS will choose one project from seven industry directions. Five more will choose from the category Mixed. They will receive an invitation to the autumn set of the GVAccelerator program. Grants will be awarded in August of this year.

The cloud grant allows to use resources of
the Microsoft Azure
platform for the sum over 4 million rubles. Startups will be able to use Azure technologies such as hosting sites, administering mobile applications, remote workplaces for developers, data analytics, technical support, and more, Firrma

GenerationS has been held by
RVC since 2013 with the support of Russian corporations, development institutions and representatives of venture infrastructure.
“This year the main concept of GenerationS is to make a corporate accelerator. Projects are followed by corporate customers, who form requirements for projects to be selected, and create companies in the format of corporate accelerators within companies. The whole GenerationS has been sharpened to ensure that this year the infrastructure for working with start-ups appears within the framework of Russian companies, ”said Gulnara Bikkulova, director of the innovation markets department at RVC.
According to RVC, in 2014, 1858 startups took part in GenerationS. The accelerator prize fund was 5 million rubles, the cost of prizes from partners was 38 million rubles.
