Apple has received a patent for advertising targeting, which determines the financial capabilities of the user

July 16, it became known that Apple received a patent for a system of targeting mobile advertising.

The detailed scheme of the system is not disclosed. Obviously, it only works for owners of Apple devices. The state of the client’s account is automatically checked at regular intervals. On the basis of the data obtained, the system determines that the user can buy with his own money.

The first method of calculation is based on determining the amount remaining on the user's account after making a purchase. If there is an amount equal to just spent, it means that he will be able to buy the product again. The second method of counting assumes that the user cannot spend more than 90% of his funds. Based on the analysis of the financial state of the user, he will be shown targeted advertising of those products that are suitable for the means. Products that are too expensive for the user will not be advertised. For those who agree to use such targeted advertising, discounts or toll-free telephone services are provided as bonuses.

Technology access to the client’s account raises many questions. Access could be through the Apple Pay payment system, but it only provides a binding of a bank card to the phone. It does not store information about the balance of the card.

In the near future, Apple has no plans to introduce its development. In the long term, the company does not exclude the introduction of more aggressive methods of monetization of personal data of users. In 2014, for example, thanks to iTunes and the App Store , Apple had access to 800 million people’s phone numbers.
