Yota made a profit

The Scartel company, operating under the Yota brand at frequencies provided by MegaFon, made an operating profit in 2014, having tripled its own revenue.

The first financial report of Yota under RAS, issued after the acquisition of MegaFon and the launch of its own mobile operator, reports that the company's revenue in 2014 amounted to 10.4 billion rubles (a year earlier: 3.9 billion rubles). The share of Yota in the aggregate revenue of MegaFon was 3.5%

Also, according to the results of activities in 2014, Yota recorded a profit of 3.8 billion rubles. Lina Udovenko, PR director of the company, told RBC that the company's revenue growth was influenced by: “a significant increase in the subscriber base, which was also due to the launch of the mobile operator Yota, as well as the growth of revenues from providing the radio access infrastructure according to the virtual mobile operator model” .
