BlackBerry CEO John Chen: “I have no intention of selling BlackBerry”

As of March 2015, BlackBerry’s market share in the smartphone market does not exceed 1% . Over the past two years, the company has released five models of smartphones and made a small quarterly profit, but the company's revenue continues to fall. In the first quarter of this year, revenues amounted to $ 793 million - a third less than the same period last year. The company's management decided to focus on software development and the provision of services to corporate clients.

In May 2015, there was news about a possible purchase of Blackberry by Apple, which raised the value of Blackberry shares from $ 9.9 to $ 10.5 per share. In 2012, it was assumed that the company can buy Microsoft, and in 2013 - Lenovo. Interest in Blackberry is due to 44 thousand patents for mobile technology, including predictive text input. On July 12, 2015, the BlackBerry CEO John Chen said that the company is not for sale.
I have no intention of selling BlackBerry. So it will be as long as the shareholders of BlackBerry have a good asset value, which now reflects what we have.
The news of the closure of the Moscow office of the company has not been confirmed. Representatives of BlackBerry Russia on the phone did not comment on this information.
