Google Android is not so open source
A curious situation occurred with the regular assembly of the Google Android SDK at number 84853. The release is available only to the finalists of the Android Developer Challenge program (ADC) and only under non-disclosure agreement.
The very fact of “pinching” a product that is positioned as open source has become publicly available by chance. Google employee David McLaughlin accidentally sent a private release message to the public newsletter.
Of course, the community is outraged. Discussions have begun about the ethical nature of such actions by Google. Opinions are expressed that the corporation’s desire to control access to development tools may force the community to pay attention to other mobile platforms.
