Roskomnadzor denied rumors about the closure of the
Facebook social network in Russia. These rumors began to spread for two reasons: the Facebook administration is blocking some Russian users and “looking through the fingers” at posting extremist materials on the social network. Such incidents do not yet happen systematically, but they cannot be called single ones either.
Earlier, the deputy head of Roskomnadzor, Maxim Ksenzov, deleted his page from Facebook. He did this after one of his posts was
removed by the network administration. “By the way, I have always said that all administrations of resources, which are much tougher and more cynical, are not limited by any framework than any government agencies,” he commented.
Also, the account of the writer Eduard Bagirov was frozen for a week. On the eve, on July 6,
it became known about the blocking of the account of the journalist Maxim Kononenko.

However, the secretary of Roskomnadzor Vadim Ampelyonsky assured that these problems are being resolved. Also, the department will discuss with representatives of Facebook a number of issues relating to Islamic terrorist groups and Ukrainian nationalist organizations, RBC
reports .
“We do not consider the closure of Facebook in Russia. We interact with him. No one is dancing to the tune of social networks. We hold a low profile. A language that incites hatred between nations is unacceptable. Facebook is doing everything right, but this principle should not be selective, ”the secretary explained.
In March of this year, Facebook
updated its
“Community Standards” . They clearly regulate the rules and restrictions when publishing posts on the social network. Under the new rules, for example, threats or real-life violence on the social network are prohibited, the support of terrorist organizations is not allowed. In addition, insults should be removed based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or illness.
