The world's largest photo bank, Getty Images, accused Google of violating antitrust laws: users take images from search engines

Representatives of the photobank Getty Images believe that in Google search the link to the source file is intentionally located so that it is difficult to find. Users copy images from the issue, that is, “Google makes a profit when using Getty Images content without switching users to the photobank site,” which, according to company representatives, is “massive theft of original content”.

Getty Images is the largest photo bank in the world. In May 2015, he opened a representative office in Russia . The company was founded in 1993 and currently has a bank with seventy million images available for free or by subscription. Representatives of the photo bank accused Google of violating antitrust laws by joining a number of other organizations.

In February 2015, Yandex filed a complaint against Google with the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service of Russia. The hearing took place on June 1st . To the accusation of unfair competition, the FAS added an accusation under Article 10 of the Law on Protection of Competition. The next meeting will be held in July. If the violation of the article “Abuse of dominant position” is confirmed, Google will have to eliminate the violations and pay a fine of up to 15% of the company's annual revenue, which was obtained illegally on the market of Android systems.
