Some services are not required to transfer data of Russian users in the Russian Federation

The law on personal data will act selectively - some industries that are subject to international agreements or core legislation may not transfer data from Russian users to the Russian Federation. This was announced by the Minister of Communications Nikolay Nikiforov, write "Vedomosti". Unfortunately, the minister did not cite any specific examples.

Vadim Ampelonsky, the representative of Roskomnadzor, confirms the words of the Minister. According to Ampelonsky, the law allows for some exceptions; for this reason, since September 1 of this year, the process of issuing visas will not be complicated.

It is worth recalling that the law on personal data itself comes into force on September 1, 2015. From this date, companies working with Russian data are required to store and process this data in Russia. Personal data is the data of Russian users, which are used when registering on sites, making online transactions and sending email messages.

However, the law may create some difficulties for a number of companies. So, in early March, the Association of Air Transport Operators (AEAT) warned of a possible suspension of the sale of airline tickets over the Internet after the law entered into force. The fact is that air tickets are booked using international systems Amadeus, Gabriel, Saber, Galileo. Data, according to international requirements, is stored almost worldwide, and the consent of the owners of such systems to transfer data to the Russian Federation before September 1 is almost impossible to obtain.

According to the president of the AEFT, Vladimir Tasun, the lack of personal data law is that the law does not indicate specific exemptions.
