Localization issues can be treated differently: it may not be needed by a professional who is used to English terminology, but is useful to the average user of software products. But, you see, it's nice when you have the choice to use the product in your own language.
Regarding the localization of Microsoft products, many complaints were expressed
( Anton Borisovich expressed his attitude to
dolMeborely at the
ReMIX conference in May in Moscow), so Microsoft opens a
forum for the general public
to discuss terminology used in localization. Now everyone can contribute to what they read on the screen when using a localized product.
Learn more about the terminology and the hard work of Microsoft localizers can be found in the blog "
Terminology and Russian terminology ."
