All Russian mobile operators have recorded outflow of subscribers

For the first time in Russia, an outflow of subscribers was recorded for all mobile operators in the country. As of the first quarter of 2015, the subscriber bases of MTS and MegaFon have decreased by an average of 1% in Russia, writes Meduza. Vimpelcom (Beeline brand) lost 4% of subscribers in Moscow and 2% in Russia on average.

It should be noted that the decline in the number of subscribers for domestic operators was observed earlier. But now for the first time there is a situation where none of the operators showed an increase in the subscriber base within the quarter.

Vimpelcom believes that the decrease in the number of subscribers is due to the seasonal factor. So, in the last quarter of 2014, people bought SIM cards much more actively than in the first quarter of this year. In addition, the number of seasonal workers who come from abroad has decreased.

The Director General of TMT Consulting, Konstantin Ankilov, states that during the crisis, customers of mobile operators began to more closely monitor their expenses. And now some subscribers could refuse one or two SIM cards, leaving only the most used SIM card.
