According to IDC forecasts, this year the share of foreign software on the Russian market may be reduced by several percent due to the sanctions and the
import substitution program.
Last year, Russian companies spent 117 billion rubles on foreign software — three quarters of the cost of all software.
The Bloomberg publication mentions the Sberbank insurance division as an example. In February 2015, it launched an online service based on the
ROSA Linux operating system using the
PostgreSQL database . This allowed to stop using Microsoft, Oracle and IBM databases.

Gazprom has
launched its own software for analyzing geological data GeoMate, which replaced foreign analogues, including Emerson Electric.
Managing Director of
the Diasoft software company Konstantin Varov told Bloomberg that they are transferring computer systems from imported to Russian software in three of the ten largest banks in Russia. VTB, Gazprombank and Rosselkhozbank are among the company's clients.
