On the background of sanctions, imports of electronics into Russia increased by 2.5 times

Electronics imports to Russia increased 2.5 times last year - to $ 773.4 million. Exports fell by 4% to $ 2.14 billion. The total profit of the enterprises of the radio-electronic industry amounted to 38.6 billion rubles, and the volume of production increased by 24%, according to the annual report of the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

Experts of the Ministry of Industry and Trade have divided the radio-electronic industry into three categories: electronics (microchips and resistors), radio industry (large blocks, for example, printed circuit boards), communication facilities (telephone and telegraph equipment).

Last year, due to sanctions and limited supplies, Russian enterprises purchased electronic components for future use. This may be one of the reasons for the increase in imports, says Svetlana Appalonova, chairman of the Association of Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers. Other sources of "Vedomosti" explain that many companies make stocks to fulfill the defense order. The decline in exports is also due to the introduction of sanctions.
