Greetings to you, dear. Today I want to talk about the opened Windows Live portal, or rather about its mobile version.

Sometimes, at least for me, it is quite difficult to understand Microsoft’s position in branding WEB and mobile resources. For example, I still do not understand the situation with MSN and Windows Live, I still can not understand which of the two was created for us? In 2005, when Windows Live was launched, it was planned, or rather, it was meant as a gradual replacement of MSN. It was a full portal; Live Search, Live Spaces, Live HotMail, Live Messenger and so on. But Windows Live, as a replacement for MSN, did not become a full-fledged replacement for MSN.
In the mobile Internet, the Live Portal concept coexists with MSN Mobile (
mobile.msn.com ) and Live Mobile (
mobile.live.com ) and continue to exist side by side. MSN contains more content, news and adapted headlines and photos on the main page, while Live is basically a list of links to all of Microsoft’s “mobile” resources.

A month earlier, Microsoft launched the new Beta version of Live Mobile portal (
mhome.live.com ) in this version, in addition to the full redesign, the opportunity to search, as well as the ability to use HotMail, as well as a photo of your profile (avatar), which appears only if you are registered and logged in to the social network Microsoft Live Spaces. Links to other services from Microsoft have not disappeared anywhere, they remained on the site, but were moved under the "button", clicking on which you can find all the links that used to be located on the page.
Beta certainly improves, even very much, the old version of Mobile Live, but again, most of the content is in the form of links that lead to MSN mobile. What was in the WEB, it continues on the mobile Internet. And no, I don’t understand why companies keep two identical resources?
