Comparison of proactive protection Outpost vs. ESET vs. Kaspersky

The other day I stumbled upon the Outpost developer blog , in which, in addition to the “press release” about the release of the new product line, I found and, in my opinion, quite an interesting study - the developers in “laboratory” conditions compared the functionality of the proactive protection modules , mechanisms that try to guess that a particular component of the system is a virus / keyloger / trojan, etc.).

The technique used by the developers is simple: all modules except the heuristic are turned off, and some unknown malicious code (backdoor, trojan) is launched on the test machine, and then it is checked whether the proactive defense module was able to cope with an unknown threat.

Expected, taking into account the authorship of the blog, Outpost won (true, IMHO, deservedly so), but what really surprised me was the frankly dull behavior of competitors (I myself use ESET products and used to feel completely protected).

The link above has screencasts from tests; curious can get acquainted with the five-minute rollers.
