Prosecutor General’s Office has blocked two more anonymizers

By decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Roskomnadzor has blocked two anonymizers of the VKontakte social network - Netzamku.ru and Vkho.ru. More precisely, we are talking about individual URLs (netzamku.ru/misanthropic_info and vkho.ru/misanthropic_info) leading to the VKontakte page of the extremist group Misanthropic Division. The Prosecutor General’s Office has already blocked all the sites of this organization.

Recall that not all providers have a DPI system for “thin” blocking. Therefore, they have to close access to the entire site by its IP-address.

Earlier, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the administration of the VKontakte network closed access to the page of the group from the territory of Russia. Therefore, from Russia it was possible to get to this page only with the help of an anonymizer, CNews reports .

Proposals to ban anonymizers have already been expressed in the State Duma. At the end of February , Leonid Levin, head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, made a proposal to pre-block anonymizers at the end of February: and illegal access to computer information. ”

But while they are not prohibited by law. Cases where the anonymizer gets into the registry of prohibited sites are not uncommon. At the end of May, according to the decision of the Anapa city court of the Krasnodar Territory, the Roskomvoboda project of the Pirate Party of Russia was blacklisted by Roskomnadzor - anonymizers were allegedly found on the site. However, representatives of the Pirate Party claimed that the site contained only instructions for circumventing Roskomnadzor’s locks.

In March, Megamind wrote that the head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, doubted the effectiveness of blocking anonymizers. He believes that their prohibition will not solve the problem of circumventing blocking access to sites. He proposes first to study in detail all the ways to gain access to resources blocked in Russia, and then make suggestions.
