The Presidential Administration's initiative to tax large IT companies has not found support in the Government. The Ministry of Finance will continue to consider this issue with the participation of the business community, and Google and Apple will still not pay tax on applications, music and video purchased by Russians in the AppStore, iTunes and Google Play stores.

The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media believes that the Russian legislation contains all the norms for the taxation of foreign Internet companies. For the development of new mechanisms, it will be necessary to more precisely define the concept of “Internet company” itself.
