One third of tablets sold in 2015 will be connected to the network via 3G and LTE

According to IDC forecast, in 2015, the supply of tablets will be 221.8 million devices - this is almost 4% less than the results of 2014. IDC lowered its sales forecast for the five months of 2015.

Users are increasingly choosing devices with mobile Internet access. So far, tablets equipped only with Wi-Fi are selling better, but their share will decrease to 60% by 2019, while in 2014 69 out of 100 tablets had only Wi-Fi. The supply of tablets with an internet connection via mobile communication will grow every year by 5.6% over the next five years.

IDC notes an increase in demand for tablets with large displays. Due to the large number of phablets, users do not see the point in buying a tablet, the size of which is comparable with a smartphone. In May 2015, iPad tablets dropped to seventh place for shipments to Russia - the appearance of Apple’s phablet is the reason for the decline in popularity of these devices.
