Online sales of electronics and home appliances in runet reduced by 10%

The demand for electronics and home appliances in online stores has declined by more than 10%. Meanwhile, the demand for perfumes, cosmetics and children's products is growing. According to Synovate Comcon's OnLife study , the share of buyers of audio, video and photographic equipment in online stores has decreased to 25%, which is 3 percentage points less than at the beginning of 2015.

Now this category of products takes the third place in the TOP-5 runet sales leaders. Before that, she was in second place. Computer equipment and accessories were generally outside the list of leaders, although a year ago they were in fourth place.

The list of TOP-5 led clothing, shoes and accessories. Their share was 41%. Cosmetics and perfumes ranked second with 28%. Fourth place steadily takes food delivery from cafes and restaurants with 24%.

According to AKIT, the Russian e-commerce market grew by 31% and at the end of last year reached 713 billion rubles. Of the 73 million Internet users, 40 million buy goods online.

Representatives of Yandex.Market agree with the results of the research. The head of the service, Pavel Aleshin, believes that the decline in demand is due to excessively high sales of household appliances and electronics at the end of 2014. Sales of cosmetics and perfumes increased due to holidays on February 23 and March 8, Aleshin told Kommersant.

One of the founders of Data Insight, Boris Ovchinnikov, argues that Russians are increasingly choosing domestic online stores instead of foreign ones. This is especially noticeable in the clothing segment.
