Created "the state segment of the Internet of the Russian Federation"

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 22.05.2015 N 260 "On some issues of information security of the Russian Federation", the segment of the international computer network Internet for federal government bodies and state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, which is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, was transformed into the Russian state Internet segment.

The state segment of the Internet becomes an element of the Russian part of the Internet and is intended for:

1) connection to the Internet of state information systems and information and telecommunication networks of state bodies, as well as information systems and information and telecommunication networks of organizations established to perform the tasks assigned to federal state bodies;

2) posting on the Internet information of state bodies and the above organizations.

Until December 31, 2017, the Presidential Administrations, the Office of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, federal executive authorities and executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation must be connected to the state segment of the Internet.

The same is recommended for the Federation Council, the State Duma, the judicial authorities of the Russian Federation, the prosecution authorities, the Court of Accounts, as well as organizations set up to fulfill the tasks assigned to federal state bodies.

Connection to the state segment of the Internet of state information systems and networks should be carried out via data transmission channels protected with the use of encryption (cryptographic) means.
