Russian IT companies have created Russia's first data center platform

The largest IT companies in Russia, IBS , Depo Computers , Parallels and Naumen, have created a platform for Scala-R data centers. They expect an increase in demand for such developments in connection with the software import substitution program. Scala-R is Russia's first converged computing platform. It includes physical and virtual hardware, providing a combination of servers and software. The platform consists of Russian-made components. The price of the platform is 40% lower than foreign analogues and amounts to 7-10 million rubles.

The number of server modules can be changed depending on the expected system load. Platform elements are already used in the e-government services of Kazakhstan and Russian energy companies.
About 60 million rubles were invested in the development. The IBS company invested most of this amount, RBC reports .

“For the past few years, our customers have been growing demand not just for scattered equipment - servers, storage systems, switches, but for complex systems designed to solve specific customer tasks,” said Sergey Eskin, President of DEPO Computers.

The competitive advantages of a converged infrastructure are easy scaling and support access to all components from a single source.

In April of this year, the software import substitution plan was approved. By 2025, the share of product imports in the segments of information security software and cloud infrastructure and virtualization management tools should be reduced from 60% to 40% and from 93% to 50%, respectively.

The security of the Scala-R platform is provided by Russian companies like InfoWatch Natalya Kasperskaya, Acronis (in terms of backup), NPO Echelon , Positive Technologies , as well as products of MFI Soft (in terms of database protection). Solutions for virtualization are provided by Parallels.

According to IDC, in 2015, the global market for converged systems will increase to $ 10.2 billion, and by 2018, to $ 14.3 billion.

The IBS group of companies has existed since 1994. Her main areas of work are software development, business application implementation and IT outsourcing. IBS customers are Rosatom, Gazprom, Aeroflot, Sberbank, VTB24, the Federal Tax Service, Rosavtodor and others.
