Said bin Ali Bin Wahf al-Qahtani’s books have been found on the sites of
App Store and
Google Play . They are included in the list of extremist materials of the Ministry of Justice and are banned in Russia, so the Russians should not have access to them.
These are two books by the above-mentioned author: “The Fortress of the Muslim. From the words of the understanding of Allah, found in the Qur'an and Sunnah "and" The Fortress of the Muslim. Appeals to Allah with pleas. Treatment with conspiracies found in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. "
On April 20, the prosecutor's office of the Stavropol Territory appealed to the court, demanding that they be recognized as prohibited,
reports Izvestia. The court satisfied the complaint of the prosecutor's office. Now links to copies of these books should be blocked for users of the Russian Internet. On May 20, the court decision officially entered into force.
In a conversation with the correspondent of Roem.ru, Roskomnadzor press secretary Vadim Ampelonsky
explained that “iTunes has sent a letter without registering it yet” and “Google Play in the registry, but they still have the statutory time to delete”. About the selected method of blocking specific pages of resources is not yet known. Roskomnadzor is waiting for a reaction from iTunes and Google Play.

“The appearance of this kind of content in popular online app stores is wild. The administrations of these stores need to learn how to prevent the distribution of prohibited materials, ”said Ampelonsky.
Not all Internet providers have the ability to block individual resource pages. Such providers are about 30%. Therefore, if Roskomnadzor makes a final decision on blocking, they will have to completely block access to both Internet sites.
A similar incident
occurred in April. The Prosecutor General’s Office asked Roskomnadzor to block the link to download the application with Adolf Hitler’s book “My Struggle” (Mein Kampf) in Google Play.
Roskomnadzor sent a corresponding letter to Google, explaining that in Russia this book is prohibited. The next day, the company closed access to this page for Russian users. However, later it became known that the book was simply moved from a free to a paid section of the resource. By decision of Roskomnadzor, the new page was blacklisted, and Google received a notice.
