CTO position in Yandex took Mikhail Parakhin, who worked at Microsoft for seven years

It became known that in the company "Yandex" the position of director of technology (Chief Technology Officer - STO) took Mikhail Parakhin. The position has been vacant since July 2013. It was then that the former SRT Ilya Segalovich passed away. Parahin will be engaged in search technology, advertising and infrastructure projects. In addition, he will support the work of other departments of the company.

In the subordination of the new service station will be heads of three directions. Roman Chernin oversees the development of search, Evgeny Lomize is engaged in advertising services, and Grigory Bakunov is responsible for the dissemination of technology.

Since March last year, Parakhin led several development departments. They focus on areas such as linguistics, ranking and search quality. All these areas are related to the MatrixNet machine learning algorithm , which is used in the Yandex search engine.

Earlier, Mikhail Parakhin collaborated with Parascript . He participated in projects for the recognition and machine processing of handwritten texts. After that, Parahin worked for seven years at Microsoft . He was involved in the development of multimedia services for the search engine Bing . Then he was invited to Yandex.
