Seagate reported on the release of the world's first 1.5 TB hard drive for the desktop. The maximum capacity of disks at once increased by one and a half times: from one to one and a half terabytes. Thus, the Barracuda 7200.11 model marks the biggest leap in disk capacity over the 50-year history of HDD.
At the same time, Seagate has released a 500GB HDD for laptops. Both drives are based on perpendicular magnetic recording technology (PMR).
