Yandex will downgrade sites forcing users to subscribe to paid services

From April 30, sites that force users to subscribe to paid content are reduced in the search results of Yandex . Such Internet resources mislead users by abusing affiliate programs of telecom operators. Users are additionally charged for services that they did not choose.
The number of these sites reaches several thousand, according to CNews. They can connect to affiliate programs of mobile operators. This allows them to offer users, along with their own services, a subscription to any operator options. Accordingly, for each new subscriber site takes a commission from the operator.

Recently, we began to receive a large number of complaints from people using a mobile Internet connection, which, by clicking on a link from the search results, they cannot get the information they were looking for. This is due to the fact that some sites do not show users the content that is indexed on their website by a search robot. Instead, they automatically redirect the person to a page where he can subscribe to the content services of mobile operators, without even realizing it (for example, closing aggressive advertising on the whole screen or registering on the site). Therefore, sites that use such monetization methods in bad faith will be ranked lower in Yandex search results.

Also, the company "Yandex" announced that from May 15 will be lower ranked and SEO links. The company's specialists believe that such links introduce a significant distortion in the assessment of the quality of sites and encourage cheating and the creation of low-quality sites for selling links.

“Last year, we completely turned off the link counting for some commercial requests in Moscow. This has led to some changes in the relevant topics, but the use of SEO links continues to be a mass type of spam. Therefore, we have decided to take the next step, ”- told the company.

At the beginning of last year, an algorithm was launched that lowers websites with shocking advertising in the Yandex search results. This innovation led to a reduction in the number of such sites in RuNet by 6 times, and pages with popunder banners - by 10 times.
