Friends, I want to introduce you to the new social bookmarking service linkomatic.ru , which I am currently developing. At the moment, the project is moving from alpha to beta, and the advice of friends is already starting to lack, so I decided to share it with you.
I would like to say a few words about how and why the idea arose to do this project, what technologies I use, with what money I make, and what plan for the development of the service.

1. First, for a long time, I was inspired by posts on Habré in the spirit of “one must act”, “it’s better to do at least something than nothing”, “it’s better for someone to repeat than to do nothing”, etc. and I decided to start doing my first project.
   
2. Secondly, before this service, I started doing 3 projects that I abandoned, realizing that I couldn’t manage them alone, and to release at least some edible version in a short time will not work. As a result, I got the experience and realized that the first project should be pretty simple so that I can cope with it. So the idea was born to make a social bookmarking service.
3. All the services that I know, I in one way or another do not like. In each of them there are uncomfortable or ugly things. So I decided to make my service, and my friends supported me.
   
4. Before starting to do it, for about a month I investigated all the existing services of bookmarks, looked at what was good, what was bad, thought about whether it was necessary to start doing this, and finally decided to do it.
   
5. The project began to do from scratch, and I do it completely myself (and this is inventing features, ideas, design, programming, design, server administration, etc.). I use the following technologies: java + postgres + hibernate + wicket
   
6. What money? - There are no investors, I do everything at my own expense. I saved a little, took indefinite leave at my own expense, and now I am enthusiastically engaged in investing my knowledge and experience. In the framework of this project I plan to get even more experience, but of a completely different quality.
   
7. Prospects for the development of the service - to make it even more convenient, faster, develop it as a recommendation service, add unique things that are not in other services.
