IMS works with packet data networks (LTE) and with mobile radio telephone networks (GSM and UMTS). In LTE networks, a user cannot be identified by a phone number.
But IMS technology helps to do this even when switching between networks of different types, a representative of the Ministry of Communications and Communications told Vedomosti.
